CRICURSA was established in Barcelona in 1928. It is a family business dedicated to manufacturing curved glass, flat glass and special architectural glass. Since its establishment, it has continuously improved its technology year after year and has continuously updated its product portfolio to always accompany its customers to meet their needs.

Thanks to this transformation and continuous market research process, Favio Ribero, the director of operations, defines the company as a "architect's dream factory" and "we are committed to realizing their dreams."

It currently has a production capacity of 100,000 square meters, divided into three locations. These are the locations for various processes such as storage, loading and automatic cutting of 18-meter glass, autoclaves and bending furnaces, and double-glazing systems. 300 employees including engineers and qualified technicians make the company a benchmark in the industry.

CRICURSA is widely represented on all continents, although it has greater influence in nearby markets such as Western Europe and the United States. Its main clients are architects, engineers, exterior wall designers and consultants dedicated to unique works.

The relationship between CRICURSA and TUROMAS has a long history. It started with a special project of cutting 12 meters of glass from 2014 to 2015. Thanks to the joint efforts of the CRICURSA and TUROMAS technical teams, the cutting system developed 100% meets all the quality requirements and tolerances required by customers.

When the Spanish company once again had the opportunity to grow from 12 meters to 18 meters, CRICURSA knew this clearly. "We first informed our partner TUROMAS of this new adventure," Favio Ribero said.

By acquiring a new 18m glass cutting line, CRICURSA is at the forefront of special architectural glass processing. It is one of the few companies in the world that can achieve this scale with the necessary quality.

The new cutting line can process glass up to 18.10 mx 3.30 m. It has an innovative de-coating system that can remove various Low-E, TPF, Easypro coatings... and waste generated in the management process.

"TUROMAS has developed a good release system that can solve one of the most common problems in the glass processing market", Favio Ribero, director of de Operaciones de Cricursa.

The grinding wheel adopts an advanced cooling system, which can prevent the temperature of the edge of the grinding wheel from rising significantly. In addition, this kind of airflow can clean the residue adhering to the surface, greatly reducing the number of grinding wheel sharpening operations.

"This new system allows you to obtain very good quality even during multiple peels. The surface remains very clean, avoiding the problem of silicone adhesion in the future."

Another most important aspect of the RUBI 5118 workbench is the 4-tool cutting system. By automatically detecting the thickness of the glass and adjusting specific tools for each type of sheet, there is no need to manually replace the cutting wheel.

4TOOL integrates four independent, self-selected cutting tools, each with its own cutting wheel, lubrication system and pressure cylinder designed for its cutting range.

The first tool is used to cut 0.55 mm to 2 mm thick glass. The second and third tools are used for glass from 2 mm to 12 mm, which is the most common thickness. The fourth tool uses larger diameter cutting wheels to cut 12 mm, 15 mm, 19 mm, and 25 mm glass.

"It achieves a very clean cut and almost eliminates polished areas", Favio Ribero, director of de Operaciones de Cricursa.

This solution makes TUROMAS the only machine manufacturer in the flat glass industry that can achieve high-quality cutting of any thickness, greatly reducing the subsequent processing of glass, saving costs and shortening production time.
